Getting Started

When you join Booga Booga Reborn for the first time, you'll spawn on whichever island has the fewest players on it right then, with nothing but a Rock and 20 Coins. If a couple of islands are tied for the fewest players, it just picks one of them at random. Everything from here is about gathering resources, crafting better tools, and using those tools to reach the next tier of gear.

Your First Hour

Start by breaking down Small Trees and Bushes to collect Wood and Leaves for a Campfire and Wood Pickaxe. Then break down Stone Nodes to get a Stone Pickaxe and Stone Axe, which let you start collecting Iron. Each new tool tier follows the same pattern: gather the resource, smelt it if needed, then craft the next tool up.

Leveling Up

As you level up, new tools, armor, and structures unlock automatically - see the Leveling page for the full breakdown. The fastest way to gain experience early on is by breaking trees, rocks, and ore nodes, since almost everything gives a bit of XP. Later on, Gods are by far the best XP source in the game. However, the Ancient Tree found on the Sun Island is also a good source of XP.

Hunger & Food

Keep an eye on your hunger bar in the bottom right of the screen. It drains over time, and once it hits zero you'll start losing health instead. Cooked Meat is the most reliable early-game food - cook Raw Meat at a Campfire before eating it, since raw meat only restores a little hunger and costs you health.

Staying Safe

Other players can and will kill you for your resources, especially once you're carrying better gear. Anything you've crafted, like tools and armor, drops its crafting materials when you die, so it's worth building some basic Wood Walls around your first base as soon as you can afford the materials.

What's Next

Once you're comfortable with the basics, the next milestones to aim for are Iron gear, your first Tribe, and eventually Rebirth at level 100. Rebirth resets your progress back to level 1, but grants a Mojo Point you can spend in the permanent Mojo Shop.
